Featured project

Coogee Beach Passivhaus

Location

Gadigal Country, Coogee, NSW

Treated floor area

201m²

Stage

In construction, due to be completed by the end of 2024

This project is a renovation and extension of an existing family home. A small footprint site, the floorplan works hard to achieve the clients goals of accommodating a growing family, working from home requirements, and regular visiting guests.

The existing house is a semi detached brick dwelling, and as part of the approval Council were keen to maintain a uniform street frontage with its neighbour. The thermal and airtightness envelope is therefore a combination of retrofit to the brick structure at the front of the house, and new timber framed light-weight construction to the rear.

We’re using Aluplast uPVC windows; a combination of Proclima membranes, tapes, and spray products for airtightness; woodfibre, earthwool and cork for insulation, a Zehnder ComfoAir HRV; and a an 11kW PV array.
